Features
At the leafy end of South Dowling Street in Darlinghurst you will find Bootsdarling. This refurbished corner spot has touches of timber cladding, hanging ferns and a towering succulent centrepiece, along with saloon doors and a set of well-placed, vintage-looking fans. All of this jumbles together nicely to create a relaxed, almost tropical atmosphere. Named for a childhood imaginary friend, the place maintains this whimsical feel.
Coffee is sourced from Melbourne independent roaster, Joshua Bailey of Bailey Coffee and the cafe is currently using two blends – Thursdays Child and Milky Bar Bandido. Iddles also has some single origins on hand such as a Kenyan AA. The house-made rose-coloured hibiscus and lemon myrtle iced tea is perfectly subtle and sublimely refreshing.
Bootsdarling’s menu will also have you coming back for more. Try the zucchini, corn and ricotta fritters with smokey bacon or the smoked-haddock omelette to get you started.
