Mosman shopping village has some history, with a healthy list of heritage buildings and a whole lot of entrenched character. But recent shifts have seen some great additions to the suburb – namely Justin North’s The Burger Shed and the suburb’s first small bar, The Hunter. Bar Testoni is slick addition to the area, perched on a little corner opposite Mosman High School.
This modern panini bar is the work of husband-and-wife team Jo Plomley and Nic Testoni and you’ll find the La Marzocco hissing out Single Origin espressos as the panini press sizzles with bread from Brasserie.
The fresh design is the work of MAKE creative, with concrete floors, a large, stylised moustache graphic by the front door and a colour palette that shifts from black to shades of green. The peg board wall behind the coffee bar offers the opportunity to adjust shelving at a moment’s notice and a blood red slicer tops the counter to deal with salumi.
The paninis – which include mozzarella, oven roasted tomato and pesto; bresaola, rocket and sweet onion; or salami, goat’s cheese and olive tapenade – are the stars of the show.
