Features
At Albert & Moore the food is fresh, beautifully presented and paleo friendly (or otherwise virtuous).
Sitting on the corner of Albert Street and Moore Road, with seats spilling out to the curb, this cafe is a breezy addition to the village of Freshwater. Crates of fresh fruit sit by the counter and white tiles, copper pipes and a chalkboard coffee menu spread across the walls. There’s a hint of raw brick, and a vine-covered ladder is suspended from the ceiling.
The menu fits in with the healthy and active aspects of a beachside lifestyle. There’s a “light and wholesome” section offering fruit salads or bircher with poached pear-berry compote. Baked eggs are listed as paleo, and salads contain broccoli and kale, or quinoa and sweet potato. Can’t forgo your bacon? There’s a bacon-and-egg roll, eggs your way, a steak sandwich and burgers.
Coffee is Paradox by Single Origin Roasters, with a weekly single origin on offer. Smoothies are popular, too, with post-workout and tonic selections, as well as the option to add spirulina or protein powder.
