Bondi Beach’s Pasticceria PAPA completes a triangle of PAPA locations that includes Haberfield and Five Dock, where its decadent ricotta cakes and traditional Italian biscuits are made. PAPA contains a pasticceria, gelateria, rosticceria and panificio.

The sprawling interior of open-plan rooms consists of a series of expansive counters. The panificio component offers an array of sweet, baked offerings, including ricotta- and chocolate-filled cannoli, crisp biscotti and glazed fruit tarts. Just around the corner, lines of gelato in white tubs await. What sets its flavours apart are the milk-free fruit and chocolate options, ideal for a lighter treat or after a particularly decadent dinner. Across the way is the rosticceria, where a variety of cured and smoked meats are presented, along with olives, sun-dried tomatoes, and cheeses such as pecorino and reggiano cut daily from the enormous wheels stored in the glass-walled cheese room.

The cafe serves coffee to accompany your chosen treat as well as housing freezers that contain classic Italian fare such as ricotta cake and a variety of semifreddo cakes, including exquisite, bite-sized pistachio, white-ganache and strawberry-filled semifreddo cups. In the dining area, wines sourced from across Italy are displayed, including a Coste Di Rose Barolo, and a Ripasso from Verona, ideal to accompany the pasta, handmade daily for the dinner service.
