Sometimes, particularly after a long day at work, it can be tedious to bother with bewildering descriptions of wine that allegedly taste like Fuji apples, hazelnuts and raisins. When all you want is a nice glass of wine, minus the verbosity, it is worth seeking out Gazebo’s The Winery.
The wine list is playful, with "unpronounceable whites" and "mysterious reds" featuring on the list. Don’t even feel like wine? No one will mind if you have a cocktail or a beer instead. Hungry? There are hearty main meals such as steak frites or some share plates if you are just there for a snack.
There is an upstairs dining area while the main bar sits on the ground floor. However, it is out in the garden that The Winery comes into its own, particularly on a warm night, glass of prosecco in hand, listening to the growing sounds of conversation and laughter.
The common complaint is that it is hard to get a table. But if being too popular is one downside, you know they must be doing a few things right at The Winery.
