Features
Amidst the louder local bars and pubs, The Midnight Special is the dive bar Enmore deserves. The decor is a nod to understated Americana with wood panelled walls, kitsch framed pictures, chequered floors, ceiling fans and booth seating. Live blues – courtesy of mainly solo acts – is a Saturday night staple.
The tap list is mainly local, with imported beers and ciders in the mix. But where the Midnight spesh excels is in the cocktail department. Vaguely tiki in style and always crowd-pleasing, the program has you covered, whether you’re after a seasonal special and or a stone-cold classic. Mixers with freshly pressed apple juice are also a big thing here.
To soak up the booze, you can order pizza from Rosso Antico next door (just ask at the bar) or plates with tinned fish, cheeses, pickles and crackers.
