After a seven-month hiatus for renovations, the Bellevue opened anew in mid-2015. Not content with just splashing a few licks of paint around, owner WDS Hotel Group radically transformed the 100-year-old building, gutting the insides to create a slick new restaurant and separate bar.

Humphrey & Edwards did the fit-out. The walls are now sparkly white. The dining room has doubled in size and features circular booths, chocolate-coloured brick walls and hanging ferns. Upstairs there’s whitewashed walls, timber floors and a pleasant open-air terrace.

The bar menu includes all the classics you'd expect – steak, schnitty, fish and chips. The restaurant is a little more sophisticated, offering dishes such as burrata with Iggy's sourdough, braised beef cheek and whole spatchcock with chimichurri.

There's also a 70-bottle wine list and beers Murray's, 4 Pines and other local favourites.
