Darren Genner, creative director at Minosa, believes that bathrooms should be a place in which we can relax to start and finish our days – a chance to wash ourselves clean and rinse our bodies and minds. Certainly they should be about more than just sloughing off grime or putting on a face.
To this end, Genner and Minosa co-creative director Simona Castagna have brought together a design space to showcase just what a bespoke bathroom experience can be.
On display in their new showroom is the locally made Minosa range of Corian by Du Pont washbasins and bathroom furniture, which is distinctive and clever in design. “It’s very tactile,” says Genner of the matte-finished basins. “When we get it to that level, we stop polishing.” It makes the finished product velvety and decidedly pleasurable to touch.
The new showroom is a discreet warehouse space filled with Minosa’s complete collection of bathroom products, even branching into luxury soaps and bath wash from the likes of Rituelle to compliment the range.
“We wanted to give our retail customers…an all-encompassing product selection that allowed us to provide a complete sensory experience, leaving you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated and also inspired,” Genner explains.
But one of the more exciting developments is a dynamic 80-metre-square exhibition space that has also been incorporated into the showroom, designed to house pop-up installations and displays and treating bathroom design more like art than pure function. It’s the kind of attitude that sets Minosa apart.
