To celebrate the launch of MJ Bale’s Summer 2013 collection, the brand has joined forces with one this region’s most prolific photographers. This weekend, head to MJ Bale in Woollahra for an opportunity to have your portrait captured by Hugh Stewart himself.
Stewart, who grew up in New Zealand, honed his craft in London and New York in the 1980s before returning back to Australia. His first breakthrough came in the guise for a Vogue Australia commission, after which he went on to shoot international campaigns for British, French and American Vogue, Conde Nast Traveller, Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair and for brands such as Chanel, Levis, J.Crew and Microsoft. During the course of his career, Stewart has had the opportunity to photograph iconic figures such as Johnny Cash, Michael Cane, the Duchess of Devonshire, Sir Ian McKellen, Sir John Mills, George Clooney, Jude Law, Cate Blanchett, Nicole Kidman and Leonardo DiCaprio among an ever-expanding list of celebrities. Stewart’s work has also been showcased in the National Portrait Gallery in London and in Canberra.
Stewart was a natural choice to be behind the lens for MJ Bale’s latest summer campaign, and now you also have the chance to be photographed by the man himself.
Stewart will be set up to take personal portraits at the MJ Bale store at 106 Queens Street, Woollahra between 10am and 6pm on Friday August 16 and Saturday August 17.
