If you haven’t had a chance to check out the Evie Group and their collection of homewares, lighting and furniture, then now is your chance, with the designers popping-up on George Street in The Rocks. The Evie Group has been selected to pop-up in a little shopfront to showcase and retail their current collection as part of a series of rotating pop-ups hosted by The Rocks, which aims to make the most of its available spaces. Evie have also launched Evie Presents, highlighting a clutch of emerging local designers and displaying their work alongside that of the Evie Group.
They opened the doors on earlier in September and for the rest of the month you can swing by the pop-up to pore over their beautifully crafted products firsthand and catch a little glimpse of the creative process in action too. There are plans for the pop-up to relocate to another Rocks location at the end of the month, but this is yet to be finalised.
The Evie Group was founded in 2010 by industrial designers Alex Gilmour and Dominic Chong, and the pop-up will also include work from Tiny Kiosk, The Hatchery and Abalos amongst its guest designers, as well as hosting a Designer Talks Series (held on Saturdays at 11am) and an in-store sketch competition. It’s a tiny little shopfront, but it’s big on ideas and we’re secretly in love with the Tiny Kiosk cork stools. With such a range of designers and ideas on show, you’re bound to find something that takes your fancy.
