Jagermeister translates to ‘master hunter’ in German and taking this idea as inspiration, the brand has provided the newest music venue contributing to the Sydney Festival in 2012. The purpose-built, semi-permanent log cabin has installed itself in the Honda Festival Garden in Hyde Park North and is providing a myriad of live entertainment for free to festival-goers, subject to capacity. The program opened with the enigmatic Tim Finn last week and continues with local acts Josh Pyke, Emma Louise, Brous, Salvation Street Shout, Ray Beadle and Gramophone Man plus many more.

Afterwards, DJs from FBi Radio – like the infamous Jack Shit and his 78s, Emma Swift and Tyson Koh – will be playing until 2am. The bucolic cabin and pop-up bar, complete with wooden deck, timber floor, stone fireplace and rocking chairs, will also host a series of secret shows and off-main stage surprises from Sydney Festival headliners. Information will be released via its Facebook page, where visitors will be required to RSVP for popular artists.

The Jagermeister Hunting Lodge will be in Hyde Park until the January 29.
