Erstwhile’s Dirk Baetzold scours antique markets, libraries and historical archives for 1930s Australian topographical drawing botanical illustrations from Germany and weathered charts. This is a reproduction of an original illustration of a Salmon-crested Cockatoo by Edward Lear from 1812–1888, and has been perfectly preserved with more than 100 years of wear-and-tear captured to add to its character. Hand-mounted with aged timber batons and cotton rope, this pretty birdy has an RRP of $249 and is ready to hang. Size: 80 centimetres x 125 centimetres.
