Features
In the spot that was once Mia Dolci, owner Orazio D’Elia has re-branded as Da Orazio Pasticceria, bringing his family of venues – including Bondi’s Da Orazio – under the Orazio name.
The bakery’s offering focuses on traditional Italian pastries while also incorporating French techniques. Expect the usual pastries, alongside classic Italian desserts, made-to-order cakes and focaccia paninis.
D’Elia’s signature maritozzi – brioche buns filled with orange and vanilla cream – are the headline, alongside cannoncini – northern Italy’s version of cannoli, where pastry is wrapped around whipped cream, chocolate and coconut and then baked. There’s also tette della Monaca from Puglia: a soft sponge full of pistachio crème and a pistachio Nutella outside.
