The Paramount Recreation Club, the Palm Springs-esque gym and wellness centre above the Paramount Hotel, Golden Age Cinema & Bar and Paramount Coffee Project in Surry Hills, is taking its feel-good remit to seriously toasty and luxurious levels.

From now until the end of August, the rooftop space will host an infra-red “sauna glasshouse” (it uses mid, near and far lighting for what is allegedly a more effective detox) for some sweaty downtime.

The sauna is a collaboration with health and wellness brand Nimbus + Co and is open to the public and guests of the Paramount Recreation Club and the Paramount House Hotel for private bookings (so there’ll be no awkward interactions with towel-clad strangers).

The fancy timber and glass hotbox offers calming woody scents and diffused oils, and is furnished with pieces from Hay design and greenery from The Plant Society. And you can get comfy before and after your braising in linen robes by In Bed.

A maximum of three people is allowed per booking and each sweat-sesh runs for 60 minutes. It’s $60 for one person, $80 for two people and $90 for three.

Once inside feel free to meditate, flick through the reading material provided, engage in some gentle stretching or listen to music via the built-in speakers. You can also pair your device with the iPad. First track for your relaxing, steamy playlist? Nelly’s Hot in Here, obviously.

The sauna is open from 7am to 8pm on weekdays and 7am to 2.30pm on weekends until the end of August at the rooftop at Paramount House, 80 Commonwealth Street, Surry Hills. Bookings and more information here.
