Oxford House
Menu - Mr Yum
Taking its design cues from the sun-kissed motels of Southern California, Oxford House is a boutique hotel on the fringe of Sydney's CBD. The hotel honours its neighbourhood location in its selection of artworks, custom bathrobes by Paddington designer Double Rainbouu and tonal colour palette in its various suites.
Each room is kitted out with Marc Newson crockery, Grown Alchemist hair care products and Marshall speakers. Paintings, photography, collage and sculptures by artists Lena Gustafson, Adam Turnbull and Niah McLeod are dotted throughout.
On level three is a light-filled courtyard with an open-air pool and loungers, overlooking the heritage Victorian terraces of the area. Here you can order dishes such as grilled king prawns and poke bowls. There are also poolside DJ sets and digital art shows to enjoy every weekend. And, as a special local touch, Paddington’s Simon Says Juice delivers fresh juices daily to the hotel via bicycle.
At street level, Oxford House restaurant is open daily offering all-day dining, signature cocktails and an extensive wine list. Plus, hotel guests can order directly to their rooms.
Rooms include the Oxford Deluxe (which has a private balcony facing Oxford Street), the Arts Suite, Oxford Terrace Suite and Junior Suite, all with separate living areas. The standard rooms, Iona, face the back laneway, while the Standard Courtyard rooms have views over the pool and courtyard area.
