The View From Here: Shelter, Malua Bay, NSW
Words by Alice Jeffery · Updated on 30 Jun 2026 · Published on 27 Feb 2024
A set of private stairs grants direct access from this beach shack to a secluded cove on the South Coast of NSW. This means it only takes a few short moments to go from sipping your morning coffee on the expansive terrace to taking your first dip of the day when you stay at Shelter.
Three linen-dressed beds accommodate six guests at the renovated fibro house. A minimalist aesthetic is carried throughout the wood-clad interiors, including a spa-like bathroom with a walk-in rainfall shower.
There’s access to a full kitchen, which opens onto a free-flowing living, dining and outdoor entertaining area upstairs. Groceries are just a 10-minute drive away – or if you want to kick into full holiday mode, there’s a bunch of cafes and restaurants an easy stroll up the street.
