Cleaver Street Coffee Shop

Wednesday
6:00am - 1:00am
14 Cleaver Street West Perth 6005

In its early days, Cleaver Street Coffee Shop pitched itself as a “social club” on Facebook. It’s apt. On any given morning you'll see regulars chin wagging with gregarious owner Cade Eglington, before perching on the shaded timber deck with a well-made brew.

With a petite square meterage, it’s not quite a fully fledged cafe, either. It's little more than a timber bar attached to a co-working space, with room for a couple of aproned baristas, a La Marzocco espresso machine and a retail shelf stocked with sauces, olive oil and even a pasta-making machine for rolling out some fettuccine at home.

Coffee is Cleaver Street’s main focus, and while there’s no space for pour-overs or filter, Eglington makes up for it by cranking out coffees quickly and expertly. As well as the co-working space next door, he also runs a coffee delivery service on Tuesdays and Fridays. If coffee’s not your order, go for a cold-pressed juice or smoothie.

To go with your brew, there’s a menu of grab-and-go granola bowls, topped-up toasts and conti rolls made with Miller & Baker baguettes. You can also grab pastries supplied daily by La Galette De France. Coffee and a croissant – what more do you really need?
