Features
If you’re looking to make some conscious consumption decisions, The Clean Food Store is the perfect place to start. Owner Rob Frost quit his job as an engineer on the mines to start the bulk-food grocer and cafe in early 2016. He was inspired by a zero-waste store in Berlin and his own raw-food diet.
The clean, Scandinavian-look store offers 160 bulk-buy products; 30 types of herbs and spices; and 20 liquids. There’s nuts, pastas, butter, tofu, kimchi, almond milk, rye, and pre-made Nood meals.
Produce is sourced only from biodynamic growers and producers in WA and failing that, elsewhere in Australia. A trip here is a great way to discover many small producers, without all the research that would usually entail.
There’s also the cafe serving juices, smoothies and Grouch & Co coffee, so you can sip while you shop.
