At these two burger joints, chances are you won’t get your burger flipped by a bored student intermittently checking their phone. Missy Moos mostly hires trained chefs to make up its playfully named burgers, made wholly from produce out west. Even the flour.

A typical burger includes a flaky toasted Turkish bun made by Mill’s Bakery in Bibra Lake, generous stacks of farm-grown veggies from Bell-Vista and big juicy patties made from Harvey beef.

The moreish crumbed onion rings and sauces are made on-site, including a super-tangy tomato relish that has a real vinegary bite to it, which is great if you’re over creamy aioli.

To the delight of children, all the burgers are named for nursery rhymes, such as Jack and Jill and The Cow Jumped Over the Moon. And there’s a heap more kid-friendly drawcards, too.

There’s a special kids menu with meal deals, colouring-in competitions, plus milkshakes and spiders (the latter dubbed, naturally, the Incy Wincy.)

The menu also offers sweet-potato chips, a falafel patty (designed by an in-house chef), and a salmon burger. Desserts such as tiramisu and jelly and ice cream are also available to eat in or take away in cute Mason jars.
