Providence Clothing Co started in Melbourne in 2011 as a family-run business. When the family moved to Perth a few years later, Providence went with them. The focus here is on well-made, carefully sourced casualwear, with a particular tilt towards American workwear.

The fit-out of the flagship North Perth shop leans into that old-school theme: it’s housed in a building from the 1920s that was once home to motorcycle dealer Pal n Panther. There are some tributes to the old tenancy scattered throughout the space: an all-black motif, upcycled workbenches and even a Pal n Panther merch T-shirt that’s available to buy from time to time.

Brands on the shelves include Red Wing, Blundstone, RM Williams and Solovair footwear; Filson, Carhartt and Patagonia clothing; Rag and Bone sunglasses, and Pendleton wool blankets, as well as an in-house line of hats, socks, bags and T-shirts.
