The Market Juicery
The Market Juicery fills a health hole in the Leederville Farmers’ Market. While cafes are positioned on almost every corner, visitors and workers around the area can grab green and cold-pressed juices, smoothies, salads, wraps, muesli and bagels from TMJ’s menu.
Heidi Mason, who previously worked at her mother’s fashion and homewares store, Harry & Gretel, opened TMJ to present fast and healthy food and drink choices. It’s a popular spot that’s well positioned down a busy food arcade (Tip Top) that gets a heap of foot traffic. At lunchtime there’s a rush of local suits getting their healthy fix, with the shop also drawing people from nearby Osborne Park.
The drinks menu has three green smoothies, six fruit smoothies, cold-pressed juices and fresh fruit juices. It’s common for customers to make their own concoction based on the fruits and vegetables available. Five varieties of milk are on hand: almond, coconut, rice, soy and cow’s.
Salad boxes are made fresh every morning. The best seller is the lemon and herb grilled chicken with a green couscous, feta and pomegranate. Soft bagels (sugar and preservative free) are delivered each morning and filled on-site. The raw slices, balls and cheesecakes are a good cure for 3.30pm-itis.
