Compendium is a tiny store with a great range of designer goods. From sleek laptop cases to high-quality prints, the shop’s stock of pretty and practical items uses bold colours, smooth wood and clean lines.
Owner Jayden Weston’s passion for design comes from a decade of working in graphic design. Inspired by stores such as Colette in Paris and Monocle in London, he wanted to bring a fresh perspective on design to the streets of Fremantle. Weston draws inspiration from Scandinavian, Japanese, American and Australian design to create an eclectic selection.
A standout collection at Compendium is the range of high-quality watches for men and women. Made by the Aark Collective, Daniel Wellington, Skywatch and The Horse, they’re available in bright pastels; sleek blacks and greys; and natural leather.
For Tintin enthusiasts, Compendium has a whole section dedicated to the much-loved comic-book hero. Hard copies, paperbacks, homewares and collectables can all be found with Tintin and Snowy’s faces plastered across them.
Being limited to a 30-square-metre space means the products are constantly changing. Weston is always on the hunt for new and exciting design items to maintain Compendium’s point of difference.
