Nearly two years after the closure of Moana Coffee, the historic hall at Moana Chambers reopened as Moana Hall in June 2019. The space now operates as a multi-function cafe, bar and events venue.
Moana Hall features oceanic blue tones inspired by the origins of its name (moana means “ocean” in Polynesian). It was designed by architects from Rezen Studios and Cusp Design Studio, who maintained the building’s original arched windows, cornices and floorboards. The antique fixtures are complemented by blue velvet booths, sleek lighting and 1920s-style rattan chairs.
The cafe at Moana Hall serves coffee from Margaret River Roasting Co and snacks from Ox Rabbit plus locally-sourced beers and lo-fi wines. The 100-person venue can be booked for private functions but is also open to the public for regular pop-up events.
