Features
Coastal dining spot Light Years already has locations in Byron Bay, Noosa, Newcastle and Burleigh. At its Perth outpost, the team has traded the modern Asian diner’s typically surfy fit-out for a sleek, blush-hued design housed inside the heritage-listed 140 William Street precinct.
The menu reflects the venue’s sprawling scale. Dishes are designed to share. A few familiar favourites have made the cross-country trip (including the sticky pork belly bao), while others dishes are more ambitious. There’s Moreton Bay bug rolls, which consists of a tempura tail tucked into a buttery brioche with spicy tartare. Or go for Korean-style beef tartare seasoned with gochujang and bonito cream, and served with diced pickled pear and sesame prawn crackers.
The wine list, is mostly Australian, but dips into Europe. Cocktails showcase tropical flavours like The Lola Paloma which blends red Thai chilli-infused tequila with Campari, watermelon and lime.
