Any Dining
Look for a low-key sign at roof level along Queen Street in the city centre and you'll stumble upon a door that opens to a sleek and intimate space. You’ve just found Any dining, a restaurant and bar that draws on ingredients and ideas from “anytime, anywhere, anything”.
Whether you opt for the degustation menu exclusively for those seated at the 10-person chef’s counter, or the a la carte option in the cosy dining room, you can count on familiar flavours remixed with smarts and attention to detail.
When Broadsheet visited, a la carte options included tagliolini and barbecued squid, and slow roasted golden beetroots paired with sheep's milk labne and pickled apple rolls-up. It’s all the handiwork of Perth-born chef Josh Gray who’s spent considerable time at demanding WA kitchens including Rockpool Bar & Grill and Print Hall Dining Room.
Cocktails are another key component of the experience here, as demonstrated by one past highlight: a Paloma/Margarita remake made with smoked pineapple and mandarin syrup. At the 40-seat bar, you’ll also find snacks to complement the selection of snappy drinks. Think oysters, and salmon roe served with bread.
As you walk in, to your left is thr dining room consisting of marble-top tables and gunmetal blue banquettes. And to your right, is the open kitchen and a chef's table. If you’re choosing the latter, make sure you’ve booked in advance.
