With a playground opposite, Tonka Truck artwork and a wall stencil reminding you to call your mum, there’s no secret about Hobart Deli’s key clientele.
Mums rule here; popping in with a little nipper for a takeaway latte or having brunch and a fresh juice. The staff cheerfully scoots past strollers and rearranges the furniture to accommodate the little ones.
The cafe is a fun and welcoming space, with quirky details, such as the display of conversation-starting books for sale, on subjects ranging from interior design to vegetarian cooking.
Breakfast is on daily until 2pm, with a range of zesty, nourishing dishes such as breakfast crumble with poached fruits and macadamia, and brioche French toast with bacon, banana and maple syrup. Vegetarians and coeliacs are accommodated, with choices such as zucchini and haloumi patties served with egg and beetroot pesto.
The lunch options include baked savouries and a selection of colourful salads. For sweets choose from chocolate, pear and pistachio bread, lemon shortbread and more.
