Neighbourhood Pizza & Pasta
Every neighbourhood needs a good local. For Mount Hawthorn residents, Neighbourhood Pizza and Pasta is just that. Hidden in a car park behind a supermarket, the refurbished warehouse caters for dine in and takeaway.
The laid-back space features long communal tables and an open kitchen pumping out next-level pepperoni pizzas. It’s all set to a rock‘n’roll soundtrack.
The “one size for all” pizzas are New York-inspired, with a dozen or so options. The thin, crusty, bases – available as half and half – might be garnished with spicy salami, kale, and bocconcini; or pumpkin, feta, chilli, almonds and mint. A grown-up Hawaiian brings speck, pineapple and jalapeno together in a combination that even pizza purists would find hard to fault.
On the pasta front, you can expect a classic spaghetti bolognaise alongside white-sauce numbers such as linguine tossed with parmesan, cream, egg and seared bacon. Simple Greek- and Italian-style salads complete the kitchen repertoire.
Gluten-free bases ensure coeliacs won’t go hungry, but those with a sweet tooth can stay a little longer for ice-cream and sticky-date pudding.
As with any good visit to your neighbour, it’s only polite to bring your own drinks. The friendly team here will provide the glassware.
