Features
Gill St Cafe & Deli is a meeting place for the Mosman Park community. The little coffee shop has a tight-knit bunch of regulars: locals walking their dogs, parents on school drop offs and staff from the surrounding businesses.
Owners Kelli Stevens and Kevin McCabe have been running restaurants and cafes since 2001. They’re the same couple behind Cottesloe’s much-loved Vans restaurant. Stevens and McCabe’s children are all involved at Gill Street and Vans, helping contribute to the relaxed, homely atmospheres.
The menu at Gill Street is made up of modern-Australian deli food and classic all-day breakfasts. There’s also a seasonal lunch menu of healthy salads, soups and sandwiches. Stand-out dishes include avocado on wholegrain toast with Persian feta and cherry tomatoes; and a traditional scrambled eggs with aged feta.
The coffee also reflects the family ethos, with beans from Crema Gourmet Roasters, a local family owned roaster. It’s a complex blend of five Arabica beans dark roasted for a strong rich flavour with hints of caramel, chocolate and malt.
The current barista has worked the machine for five years and counting, so you can be sure your coffee will be made just how you like it.
