High-school sweethearts Mark and Kylee-Anne Cecchi weren’t even 20 years old when they opened the restaurant that took their name in 2012. With Mark in the kitchen and Kylee-Anne running front of house, the husband-and-wife team earned a reputation for quality, affordable Italian cuisine.

In August 2016, the Cecchis opened this small bar next door to give customers a casual option for pre- or post-dinner drinks. But it is also very much a destination of its own.

Distressed timber beams, exposed brick walls and industrial fittings create a rustic yet sophisticated look, and a long central bar encourages interaction. Scattered greenery softens the space.

The bar menu consists of small plates and salads. Past choices on the rotating menu: panzanelle (fried pizza dough), pulled beef sliders, pork-belly “lollipops” and various bruschetta. The drinks menu includes craft beer and boutique wines.
