Good things continue to happen in threes, as evinced by the return of Tre Amici, a $35 three-course – and three-venue – roving dinner offered during the week at the bottom of William Street.

The tour begins with antipasti and aperitivi at No Mafia, moves onto Francoforte Spaghetti Bar for mains, and concludes with dessert at Chicho Gelato.

“We all love our little Northbridge community,” says Emma Ferguson who owns No Mafia with her partner Dan Morris. “It's a real joy to be a part of. The three of us are all friends, so it seemed like a natural progression to share our little corner of Northbridge with everyone. Last year’s response was insane. People loved the idea of doing something different and fun with their friends and family on a weeknight.”

The value-packed buy-in aside, changing menus keep things interesting for repeat guests. Things might kick off with pumpkin and Taleggio arancini one week, and sweetcorn fritters the next.

The entire menus at both Francoforte and Chicho, meanwhile, are fair game. Savoury options range from kale pesto to squid in vino. As always, Chicho’s 20-flavour-strong gelato menu keeps things interesting: think lavender and honeycomb, and black sesame played off against grilled banana.

Tre Amici is available from 4pm Monday to Thursday (Ferguson suggests arriving early to beat the rush between 6.30pm and 8pm).
