Restaurant Amusé, one of the most celebrated restaurants in Perth dining history, will shut after its final service on Saturday March 4.

Owners Hadleigh and Carolynne Troy – chef and restaurant manager respectively – said the end of the restaurant's lease combined with the recent arrival of the couple's first child convinced them it was time for a change.

Although the Troys are bringing down the curtain on their award-winning diner, they have already begun planning for life after Amusé. While mum's the word on specifics, Hadleigh says their next opening will be a little more family-friendly, both in terms of dining style and work hours for he and Carolynne.

“I’d like the next thing we do to be a little cruisier so we can spend more time at home,” he says. “Something where we’re packing up and going home at 9pm at night instead of one in the morning. I think we’ve done enough 14 hours day.”

He also hinted that bread would play a key role in their next venture: extremely encouraging news for the many (many) fans of the restaurant's addictive, benchmark-worthy bread and whipped butter.

Restaurant Amusé (64 Bronte Street, East Perth) is open from 6:30pm Tuesday to Saturday for dinner. The restaurant is fully booked till Saturday March 4 but wait list requests can be made online.
