Four years after expanding from the CBD to Fremantle, Short Order has opened its third outpost, in Baldivis.
Like its Freo counterpart, the Baldivis restaurant was designed by local firm Mata and features an interior inspired by 1950s America. With chequered tiles and cosy booths, the space is like a scene from Grease – with classic burgers, shakes and fries to match.
Burgers are the main event, the highlights being the standard cheeseburger with American cheddar (of course) or the signature Short Order burger with a beef pattie, mozzarella, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, pickles and a trio of sauces: mustard, ketchup and a house-made special sauce. For spice lovers, there’s the FNZ Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich with fried chicken, chilli oil slaw, pickles and “comeback sauce” a staple sauce in America’s South.

SUBSCRIBE NOWThe nods to the USA continue with buffalo wings, ranch dipping sauce, and drinks like Arizona sweet teas and Boylan sodas in glass bottles. Milkshake flavours range from the traditional to banoffee or Biscoff. All shakes are made using gelato sourced from WA’s Gelato Bam Bam, and tubs of it are available to buy in-house.
