Who would have guessed that Crown Theatre’s rooftop was hiding some of the best views in Perth?

The previously unused space at Crown Perth has been transformed into Hi-Line Rooftop, a relaxed bar offering guests views of the CBD skyline.

Andrew Hill, Crown Perth’s chief operating officer of food, beverage and entertainment, says Hi-Line is all about making the most of Perth’s breezy lifestyle.

“We know that alfresco cocktails are a beloved summer tradition, and given the Perth climate a rooftop bar was a real no-brainer,” he says.

The 935-square-metre, 400-person bar features plush couches, high and low tables for dining, and shaded areas. Although Hi-Line has Perth Stadium-goers in its sights, Hills says sound from stadium events won’t carry to the venue.

The cocktail menu keeps it suitably breezy with mixed drinks such as the rum-, yuzu- and raspberry-powered Crimson Samurai. The wine list is predominantly Australian with the occasional French accent.

The bar menu follows the same upmarket American diner lines as Crown’s ground-floor pub, Merrywell; think pork belly, avocado, cabbage and jalapeno tacos, lollipop wings with blue cheese sauce and mac’n’cheese jalapeno bites.
