If you’ve ever been to the States – or turned on a TV – you’ll likely be familiar with Cinnabon and its sticky scrolls.
Cinnabon already has a presence Down Under with locations across Australia in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria. This year, Cinnabon is set to open its first WA store in Lakeside Joondalup Shopping City on Saturday August 31.
“Selecting Lakeside Joondalup for our first store is a strategic move. This centre attracts close to 10 million people a year [and] is also conveniently situated near the train station, making it easily accessible for everyone,” managing director of Boxx Brands (the owner of the rights for Cinnabon in Western Australia) Brett Higgins said in a statement.

SUBSCRIBE NOWThe Joondalup location will open with three classic flavours of Cinnabon – the original roll, caramel pecan and chocobon – in both the full and “minibon” format. Along with this, “there will be Cinnabon-branded sweatshirts to give away for the first 50 customers on opening morning,” to buy a "cinnapack" Higgins announced. Though, if the lines at last year’s Sydney opening are anything to go by, cinnamon cultists will have to get in quickly to score one. Other product giveaways will also be on offer.
Cinnabon was founded in Seattle in 1985 and now sells its warm, gooey, icing-covered cinnamon scrolls in nearly 2000 stores worldwide. The chain first arrived in Australia in 2019, and the new WA store will be its 15th Australian location. There are now plans to continue expanding across the state, with an end goal to open around 20 locations in Western Australia.
Cinnabon is set to open at 420 Joondalup Drive, Joondalup on August 31, 2024.
