Holy Cannoli
Guy Grossi’s Garum is bringing back its popular cannoli this month to coincide with National Cannoli Day. Better yet, the first 100 customers (per day) to order a takeaway coffee at the osteria’s alfresco coffee cart – between 7am and 11am from June 16 to 18 – will receive a free cannolo (piped with either traditional ricotta and pistachio, chocolate mousse or a limited-edition ricotta, white chocolate and honeycomb filling). For those who miss out, Garum’s new retail concept, Bottega, will be stocking fresh cannoli daily. From June 16, patrons can purchase a box of six (for $15) or a box of nine (for $20). Each box includes all three flavours, which will also be added to Garum’s dessert menu.

Truffle treats
Truffle season is here again – and Perth venues are making the most of the fancy fungi with special limited edition menus. The Westin Perth has launched a Truffle High Tea – available from June 11 to August 1 – with truffled scones, chicken rillettes with local truffle and sourdough, and tuna tarts with truffle ricotta and caviar. The $59 ticket includes unlimited tea, coffee and herbal infusions. (Champagne is also available.) And beachfront eatery Odyssea is hosting its annual truffle dinner on June 25. The five-course menu will showcase black truffle from Manjimup's Truffle Hill, adorning dishes such as spanner crab with honey shallot and squid-ink cracker, cured pork collar with pickled kohlrabi and pork jus, and baked sheep's milk yoghurt cheesecake. Tickets are $99 per person

A taste of SA at Besk
Chef Joel Tisato of Adelaide restaurant Africola is heading across the Nullabor to take over West Leederville bar Besk on June 26. The Besk Mates South Australian Takeover starts at 12pm with a wine tasting, featuring more than 30 wines from seven small-batch SA winemakers including VHS Wines, Moorak, Mysterious Mr Black, Murdock Hill, Slow Lane and more. Then, from 3pm, the party begins as Tisato takes over the kitchen, with DJ sets by Allstate and Wil Bixler till late. Tickets to the Wine Tasting are $35 per person and entry to the Wine Party is free (no bookings).

Tuck into $15 pizzas and sip on $10 spritzes
North Fremantle’s Bib and Tucker is firing up the pizza oven every Wednesday night in June for Sunset Social. Take a seat on the balcony overlooking Leighton Beach and watch the sun dip while sipping on $10 gin and tonics and $10 Aperol spritzes. The $15 pizzas include a classic margherita; chorizo and olive; a grilled vegetable number and one with four cheeses. There’ll also be live music by local Sam Nafie. It’s all happening on the balcony only, every Wednesday between 4pm and 7pm (there are heaters and blankets to keep you warm). Reserve a table here.

Brew news
Family-owned microbrewery Cowaramup Brewing Company is hosting a beer-matched degustation dinner on Saturday June 26 as part of WA Beer Week. Head down south and experience an evening with head brewer Jeremy Good and head chef James Haggis. The pair will team Good’s brews with six of Haggis’s dishes, including mornay scallops, chicken roulade, venison medallions and chocolate espresso cake. The evening starts at 6pm, with dinner kicking off at 7pm. A bus service between Margaret River and Cowaramup is available. Tickets are $120 per person (bus not included) and include drinks.
