There’s no shame in takeaway. Whether you’re hungover, in a rush or just craving a dishes-free meal, Perth’s best takeaway spots are here to help.
Even top chefs capable of whipping up a to-die-for dish in a matter of minutes know there’s something special about enjoying a restaurant-quality dish on your couch.
These are some of the best takeaway joints in WA, according to 12 top chefs.
Brian Cole, Hearth
“Angelwood Pies. Those are some of the most incredible pies I have ever had. The pastry is next level, and the fillings are always interesting and delicious.”
Bac Pham, North 54
“Uncle Lam’s in Coventry Village. It’s fast, efficient and filling.”
Drew Dawson, The Cool Room
“Our go-to is definitely Rym Tarng in Palmyra. It’s close to the cafe, so it’s perfectly placed for pick-up after prepping for the pop-up. It’s flavour-forward, authentic and always delicious. We also love dining in, but if we can’t get a table, the takeaway is just as good.”
Glen McCue, Jujube Dining
“I love an Indian takeaway; it travels so well and there is always enough left over for lunch the following day (sometimes it tastes even better). Bollywood Spices in Craigie is a favourite of mine. They used to be based in North Perth but moved a couple of years ago. I have been a customer for more than 10 years now.”
Sarina Kamini, cookbook author
“Rucola. I’m a pizza girl. The crew from Pizzica, another local favourite, opened it as a secondary site purely for takeaway. The crusts are chewy, toppings are generous and its tiramisu is rich and soft, just the way I like it.”
Jess Roe, Petition
“Anything from the Beer Corner menu is a favourite. Japanese or Thai food is always a great choice, too.”
James Cole Bowen, Gibney
“It’s got to be North Street Store for a conti roll or something quick when I’m on the move.”
Pippa Canavan, Bar Love
“Longlae Thai is amazing. They don’t dull down the spice for the Western palate and I love it.”
Sofika Boulton, Sonny’s
“Always pizza. My go-to is the smoked mozza and ’nduja from Monsterella. The pizza there is consistently some of the best.”
Tom Harper, Besk
“The conti rolls from The Re Store are always superb and very generous. Great to pick up when heading to the beach!”
Marcello Segalina, Il Falco
“Rym Tarng in Bicton is the goods. It’s a small Thai restaurant that delivers amazing meals with a good spicy kick to them. Plus the staff are absolutely fantastic.”
Rohan Park, The Flackyard
“I can’t go past Drasko’s Hot Chicken without stopping in to grab some takeaway hot chicken. I’m actually overdue for a Drasko’s run, but I’m very keen to try out his new waffle chicken offerings on my next visit.”
