WA Beer Week
WA Beer Week edges ever closer. Consisting of more than 50 events, this year’s calendar was too big for a single week and so stretches across 10 days. The line-up is as much about eating as it is drinking and includes brunches, degustations and long-table dinners at venues such as Petition Beer Corner, Bib & Tucker, Strange Company, Bright Tank Brewing and Old Faithful Bar & BBQ. WA Beer Week runs from November 16 to 25. A full list of events is available online.


Scarborough Sunset Markets return
The Scarborough Sunset Markets are back in November. Held on the sand in the Scarborough Amphitheatre, the family-friend markets feature live music, food and creative pop-ups. New additions to the food-stall line-up include gourmet hot dogs from Wassup Dog, Indian street food from Tikka Tango and healthy smoothies from Smooth Souls. The Scarborough Sunset Markets run from November 1 to April 25.


Sweet nectar
Rustico at Margaret River’s Hay Shed Hill is holding a lunch celebrating this much-maligned wine style. Held as part of the state’s first Sweet Wine Symposium, the Nectar Long Table Lunch demonstrates the quality and diversity of Australian sweet wines. The five-course lunch, designed by chef Mike McAllister, will also show off the style’s versatility for food matching. The lunch is on Sunday October 21 and tickets are $90 per person and available online.


An Evening with Guillame Brahimi and Moss Wood
France meets Australia’s south-west as Crown Perth’s Bistro Guillaume hosts the winemaking team from pioneering Margaret River winery Moss Wood. An Evening with Moss Wood consists of a five-course dinner starring matched Moss Wood wines and commentary from winemakers Alex Coultas and Tristan Mugford. The evening will be hosted by veteran wine writer Ray Jordan. The dinner is on Thursday October 25 and tickets are $195 per person and can be purchased by phone.
