Weeknight specials at Rodney’s
Everyone’s favourite nautically themed neighbourhood bar Rodney’s Bait ‘n Tackle has launched wallet-friendly dinners. Get together some friends for a school-night catch-up and hook into deals such as $15 Taco Tuesdays (two fish or vegetarian tacos plus a schooner of Perth Draught or a glass of house wine) and $15 fish and salads and chips on Thursdays.

Stable Hands reopens
After construction issues with an adjoining building, Stable Hands has reopened. The Fremantle cafe-slash-bar restaurant is back with a new Mediterranean-inspired menu created by head chef Reece Lardi and owner Phillip Arnold. Expect Fremantle octopus with blood pudding and gin-cured salmon with liquorice and goat’s-curd meringue, plus an all-Australian wine and beer selection.

Open Bishop’s House
The Lamont family, one of the state’s most prominent names in food and wine circles, is celebrating the 10-year anniversary of running heritage-listed Bishop’s House in the CBD by opening the space up to the public. The day is a chance for guests to explore the grounds, meet suppliers and enjoy tastings from all five Lamont’s locations around the state. The Open Day will be on Sunday September 30 from 12pm to 5pm and entry is free.

Open for Dinner
Northbridge cafe-cum-restaurant Open by Duotone is now serving dinner. Like the daytime menu of Korean fried-chicken ribs and Japanese-style curry croquettes, dinner is a celebration of East and West with big flavoured dishes built for sharing. The all-day dessert menu, meanwhile, makes getting your sugar fix easy any time of day.
