Designer Sara Smith’s fond memories of Soho have inspired the look of the newest Sara Fox collection. Classic, relaxed silhouettes teamed with stronger leather make for an autumn–winter collection rich in understated style.
For this season’s release, Smith used a mix of silk, velvet and knitted pieces that effortlessly make the transition from daywear to after-dark.
“I always choose fabrics like silk, cotton and linen that are easy to wear and fall flawlessly over the body,” says Smith. “This time I injected warmer textures such as satins, velvets and ribbed knitwear in mulberry and golden hues to add a richer feel.”
Fluid silk slips and figure-hugging knitted dresses are a highlight of the transeasonal range, in which hues of champagne peach, mulberry, burnt orange and khaki dominate. While utterly modern, the collection pays tribute to the nineties with a whimsical daisy-print blouse that is both feminine and playful.
Each piece in the Mercer Collection has been designed to coordinate with existing wardrobes and be worn throughout the year.
