It’s been more than seven months since Japanese clothing retailer Uniqlo announced it was opening its first Western Australian store. And from 10am on Thursday, Uniqlo Perth on Murray Street Mall will be open.
Expect two levels of Uniqlo’s LifeWear range, which is minimal in design and specialises in seasonal basics. The store will stock the full collection of outerwear, bottoms, accessories, tops, and loungewear, for men, women and children.
For our money, the hero of the collection right now is the women’s and men’s linen range, displayed downstairs near the store entrance. They come in new-season shades including white, blue, navy and beige. For $49.90 you may as well buy every colour.
Also downstairs is the Uniqlo activewear collection and the Uniqlo ultra-light down collection, which is water-repellent, lightweight and ideal for Perth’s impersonation of winter.
The collections continue upstairs with loungewear and the fun UT collaboration range of graphic tees featuring prints of cartoon characters as well as iconic artists such as Andy Warhol.
To celebrate the Perth store’s opening, which is Uniqlo’s 15th store in Australia, the first 1000 customers that spend $100 or more will receive a free gift bag. Free coffee, Japanese drummers and sweet treats will also be offered.
