Until now, Perth has only had a small taste of Sydney label Jac+ Jack. But the label by Jacqueline Hunt and Lisa Dempsey has finally opened a standalone boutique for men and women in Claremont.
“We think Jac+ Jack is well suited to the West Australian lifestyle, with our sense of ease that's fitting for the climate,” says Dempsey. “It’s exciting to bring a broader offering of Jac+ Jack to all of our existing customers in Perth, who know us best for our knitwear and will now have a place to explore the complete collection.”
The boutique is in the central shopping area of Claremont on Bayview Terrace. The tree-lined street is a popular strip for shops, with its heritage buildings and sense of community.
The newly renovated exterior draws on an uncomplicated monochrome palette and is a refreshing addition to the historic area. Levitated shelving, combined with architectural and feminine curves, creates a relaxing aesthetic that encompasses the brand’s philosophy of perfecting simple basics.
Jac+ Jack’s designs easily work as wardrobe staples for everyday wear. Known for unstructured designs in muted tones, Dempsey describes the spring collection as exciting, with vibrant colour and exaggerated proportions.
“It’s a progression of what we have been doing to date, still underpinned by beautiful fabrics and easily worn pieces, mixing colours and textures rather than our traditional tone on tone,” says Dempsey, who also shares her love for this season’s shimmer knits in terracotta orange and bright teal. “For me, the silhouette of the season is the cropped wide-leg pant, which I love paired with an oversized shirt.”
