How do you describe ART BALL? In a word: unpredictable.
Presented by Vogue Australia, the event will see the Art Gallery of Western Australia (AGWA) transformed into a maze of interactive installations that bring together Perth’s art, fashion and music communities.
Last year’s inaugural event was unlike anything I’ve been to in Perth. The live music. The cast of performers. That magical feeling of roaming AGWA after dark. The dance floor downstairs was full the whole night, while guests upstairs could participate in nude life drawing. ART BALL creative director Grant Capriotti says guests at this year’s event can expect more of the unexpected.
"The best thing about ART BALL is that there is so much going on at any one time that you can be anywhere within AGWA and experience something exciting and unexpected. Things you don’t see every day,” he says. “Then there’s the entertainment line-up – the best of what’s happening in Australian music and entertainment at the moment. It’s such an immersive, multi-artform experience."
Client Liaison will fire up the dance floor with their ’80s inspired tunes, along with Montaigne, future-soul singer NGAIIRE and hip-hop artist Mathas.
The dress code? Avant-garde fashion inspired by The Rise of Sneaker Culture exhibition currently on show at AGWA. Ladies, it may be the only time you wear sneakers on the red carpet.
ART BALL will be held on Saturday May 20 at AGWA. Tickets are $262.50 and available online.
