If you missed Cathrine Summers’s sell-out run at The Cottesloe Beach Hotel during this year’s Fringe World Festival, you’re in luck. The UK-born, Perth-based singer is returning to The Cott for four Friday night shows in August and September.
Each will have a different theme, and Summers will pull out tid-bits of history from the era or artists under the spotlight. The first is dedicated to European jazz and will feature songs from The Great Gatsby; the next will throw back to vintage Hollywood film soundtracks; the third will pay homage to the leading ladies of jazz, such as Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington and Billie Holiday; and the last will be a sophisticated, old-world cabaret.
In true jazz-club style, there’ll be VIP lounges with table service (for groups of six) and intimate tables for two, plus cocktail tables and theatre seating.
European Cotton Club – Fri August 16, 8pm
Vintage Hollywood Jazz – Fri August 30, 8pm
Great Ladies of Jazz – Fri September 13, 8pm
Hot Summers Jazz Cabaret – Fri September 27, 8pm
