Danielle Alvarez Book Launch and Lunch at Petition
Chef Danielle Alvarez's new cookbook, Recipes for a Lifetime of Beautiful Cooking, brings together the influences that have formed her cooking life into one volume of recipes for home cooking. It covers her Miami childhood and Cuban family recipes, her formative years at legendary produce-driven Californian restaurant Chez Panisse, and the time she's spent in Australia since becoming founding chef at Fred's in Sydney.
She's heading to Perth to celebrate the launch of the cookbook with a three-course lunch of dishes directly from its pages at Petition. Throughout the lunch she'll move between tables, speaking about the cookbook's inspirations.
The meal starts with comte gougeres and smoked trout rilette with crudites, followed up by casarecce with prawns, mint and pistachio, and grilled asparagus. A showstopping sweet-and-sour cumin lamb shoulder with garlic yoghurt and veggie sides will be the main, and it'll all be finished with a Meyer lemon tart. Drinks can be bought separately.
Tickets are $135 for the lunch, or $185 for the lunch and a signed copy of the book.
From 12pm.
