Fringe World and its cast of the weird, wacky, hilarious and Jurassic returns to Perth for one of the most entertaining events on the calendar.

Scattered around town, you can catch world-class cabaret, comedy, theatre, dance and circus acts: some have travelled from across the globe while others are from our own backyard. With more than 700 acts showing at 150 venues, this year’s program is a touch overwhelming. Here’s a small taste of what’s on offer.


Comedy Hypnotist Matt Hale: Serving Suggestions
You won’t find anyone clucking like a chicken in this show. If you’re part of the audience, you’ll be in tears of laughter; and if you’re game enough to volunteer, prepare to be transported to a “special” place.

Briefs
Briefs hits the stage in Perth for the fourth consecutive year, delivering an entertaining performance of burlesque and risqué acts. These boys know how to surprise the crowd with their unpredictable and charming show.

Graeme of Thrones
You don’t have to be a Game Of Thrones fan to see this one. Direct from London’s West End, the show thrills audiences with bad props, hilarious acting and drama.

A Night At The Musicals
For those with a soft spot for musicals, this cabaret act pays tribute to musical theatre with a showcase of nonsense. The Lion King, Annie and Grease are just a few of the shows that take a beating.

Peter and Bambi Heaven: The Magic Inside
There’s no hocus-pocus here. Gold Coast magic duo Asher Treleaven and Gypsy Wood are modern day magicians with an arsenal of mind-boggling tricks and dance moves.

VELVET
It’s time to get down. Making its WA premiere, Velvet is a fusion of disco, dance and circus that redefines cabaret. Did we mention that Marcia Hines is part of the show? It’s not every day that you get to see this diva perform.

Amelia Ryan is Lady Liberty
Amelia Ryan knows the struggle of choosing between tequila shots and green juices. Through witty songs and social observations, she shares what it’s like to be a modern woman.

Jurassic Palm
Who knew there was a dinosaur comedian in Perth? Jurassic Palm is an event 65 million years in the making. James Palm’s brand of stand-up comedy is backed by dance routines and a few surprises.

Fringe World Mermaids
The magical mermaids are one of Fringe World’s most popular attractions, fun for adults and children alike. Watch their giant fish tails swirl and twirl in The Pleasure Garden’s giant aquarium. Best of all, it’s free.
