After becoming one of Subiaco’s cult coffee and brunch hotspots, organic cafe Be Free is living out its produce-driven ethos at Perth City Farm.
Surrounded by community garden beds and fruit trees, the 50-seat venue is dedicated to mindful consumption. Nutrient-dense, chemical-free, seasonal food is top priority. As much produce as possible is sourced from local organic farmers to minimise food miles, and the team works closely with the farm’s full-time gardener to minimise waste and create a regenerative ecosystem.
The all-day breakfast and lunch menus echo the fit-out’s natural farmhouse feel. Favourites include a savoury cheddar waffle loaded with miso-glazed mushrooms, and wild-caught smoked salmon crumpets topped with dill cream cheese, shaved fennel, cucumber, a poached egg and crispy capers.
The beverage list is equally supercharged with cold-pressed juices, superfood smoothies and coffee by Dukes.
