Cimbalino's Napoleon Street outlet makes a whopping 7000 coffees a week. If you’ve ever tasted its brew, made from Typika beans roasted one suburb over in Claremont, then that number won’t surprise you.

It’s a light roast with hints of chocolate and caramel, and it’s great with or without milk. It’s made with a handsome burgundy La Marzocco machine. In the warmer months there’s also a 16-hour cold drip on offer.

The Napoleon Street cafe is the biggest of Perth’s four Cimbalinos and arguably the best looking. Chalk it up to the murals, bright-red walls and extensive seating, which spills out onto the footpath (a great spot for people watching) and covered laneway.

A full kitchen upstairs makes Cimbalino’s extensive breakfast menu possible, which is available until 2.30pm. The standout dish, the slow-cooked porridge made with panela sugar, tangy verjuice, poached pear and fresh cream, is best when partnered with the Middle Earth juice – a vivid green concoction of wheatgrass, mint, lime, apple and spirulina.
