Pressed Earth
Unlike other juices that can taste sweet one day, earthy the next, Pressed Earth’s cold-pressed juices are reliably delicious. They're made using local ingredients, with no pasteurisation.
Owners Tom and James Beare put together Pressed Earth when their mother was sick and they were searching for natural healing methods. After stumbling on cold-pressed juices – big in the US at the time, not so much here – the guys obsessively scoured the web for info and formulated the drinks in their kitchen.
The result is a range of nutrient-crammed juices and nut milks intended for different purposes, from to recovery to hydration and relaxation. The Greens Five is cos lettuce, kale, silverbeet, celery, cucumber, lemon and parsley. The Espresso Nuts is a simpler mix of almonds, cold-drip coffee and dates. Then there's the electrolyte-heavy The Jungle, for after a big night out.
Food is geared for take away (there are just six seats) and comes from like-minded suppliers. Gluten-free, dairy-free, sugar-free and vegan options abound. There's granola from Coastal Crunch; kofta and curry from Food Graffiti; and vegan lasagne from Wholelistically Healthy. There's also a range of paleo and vegan sweets, such as baked doughnuts, brownies and blondies.
