The Apple Daily
The Apple Daily is upstairs at Brookfield Place, overlooking the action below at the Print Hall bar. On busy nights the noise level can get boisterous, but it’s a fitting backdrop to the venue’s high-voltage South East Asian dishes made to share.
Dig in to dishes such as oysters with zesty nuoc cham dressing; teriyaki beef short ribs with shimeji mushrooms; or raw kingfish with caviar, wasabi and ponzu. Just don’t expect street-food prices – this is chef-prepared fare, from head chef Ivan Blackwell.
There’s a lot of fun to be had with the drinks list. Wine is all about WA and lines up well-recognised wineries alongside boutique producers, with expected blockbusters and road-less-travelled options of unusual grape types or blends.
There’s also Asian whiskies and sake, and a punchy selection of cocktails, such as the Hong Kong Happy Times with rum, kaffir lime and elderflower.
