Willing Coffee Guildford
Tim Willing draws one main comparison between cycling and coffee: precision. The former Australian track-cycling champion and property developer applied that when he and his wife Veronique opened Willing Coffee’s first outpost in Guildford.
Willing’s own in-house coffee blend is the staple on offer, and brew-specific single origins from featured roasters are on regular rotation. You can also buy beans to take home. The shelves have featured coffee from roasters like Perth-based Twin Peaks, Community Coffee Co and Modus Coffee; or, from further afield, Norwegian roaster Tim Wendleboe and New York City’s Sey Coffee.
The food offering is simple but well considered. Customers can expect fresh croissants and pastries, granola, and toasties.
The space’s design is based on the family-run coffee shops of 1950s Italy. There are a few cosy tables with seats if you’re sticking around. Curved lines and steel abutted with matte marble mimic the coffee machines, and the building Willing Coffee is in.
